COVID-19 Information for guests

Your booking is safe and secure

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams is our top priority and we always take all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare. As with many other businesses, we are actively monitoring the situation with regards to the outbreak of Covid-19 coronavirus.

We have now suspended all activity and events as per current official government and health authority restrictions. We will start to welcome guests as soon as these are lifted and it is safe to do so.

Please note that deposits or pre-paid bookings are non refundable, however we can provide you with a gift voucher so you can come and join us at another time of your choosing within 12 months.

You may want to check with your travel or event insurance provider to see if you can make a claim against your purchase.

Rest assured your booking is safe, secure and guaranteed and we will be in touch with all guests personally over the coming weeks to make arrangements for future dates.

So, you're making a pilgrimage to a Roman occupied land? Well you will need to be prepared!

We want you to have a great experience so we have compiled a list of useful information that even an uncivilised barbarian such as yourself should understand....

Opening Times

The Romans Activity Park is open seasonally from April 11th to October 31st.

Days of operation are from Thursday to Sunday. 

Opening times are for the park from 10am to 5pm with the Bar open till 8pm.

How to get here

The Romans is based in Aintree, Liverpool (home to the famous Grand National) with excellent transport links.

The Romans Peasant Wagon (Shuttle Bus) can be arranged by The Romans for £10pp.

Taxi will take around 20 minutes from Liverpool City Centre and will cost approx £14.

Liverpool City Centre to Aintree train station is approx 15 minutes. The park is only a short 5 min walk from the station.

Car Parking

There is very limited parking on site. We recommend you ditch the car, relax, have fun and have a few drinks!

However, if you are travelling by car please let The Romans support team know in advance so we can try our best to arrange a parking space (this is not guaranteed)

What's on site

Becoming a Roman citizen will entitle you to all of the following facilities:

– Indoor & Outdoor Toilets (one disabled toilet in the clubhouse in the grounds

– Entrance to The Forum – Our brand new Roman themed beer/gin garden with shop, food shack, BBQ’s and music

– Romangram – fun exhibits and selfie stations 

– Changing Rooms – limited and available on request only

– Gladiator School 

– Circus Maximus Games area 

– Car Park – limited and available on request only (not guaranteed)

What to wear

Light sportswear and trainers are recommended.

Please note it is important to arrive in your clothing you want to play in. We provide togas to put over your clothing.

Storage & Personal Belongings – personal belongings can be locked in a secure chest, but The Romans accept no responsibility for the safety of them during this time



The Romans is an open air activity, with plenty of shelter & weather proof games the weather is very unlikely to affect your experience.

Only in extreme conditions when it is deemed unsafe will The Romans not go ahead. 

Only when The Romans management deems weather conditions to be extreme and unsafe will the activity not go ahead. Alternative activities will be provided on site under sheltered zones.
